Because you did not obey the Lord or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the Lord has done this to you today.

But Samuel said to him, “I will not go back with you. You have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you as king over Israel!”

“Enough!” Samuel said to Saul. “Let me tell you what the Lord said to me last night.” “Tell me,” Saul replied.

Go, tell Jeroboam that this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I raised you up from among the people and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.

There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.
