“Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me. And anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.

“Anyone who welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me. And anyone who welcomes me also welcomes the one who sent me.”

But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were whispering among themselves. They said, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Then he spoke to them. “Anyone who welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me,” he said. “And anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. The one considered least important among all of you is really the most important.”

“I give you a new command. Love one another. You must love one another, just as I have loved you.

Everyone the Father gives me will come to me. I will never send away anyone who comes to me.

Jesus became a servant of the Jews. He did this so that the Gentiles might give glory to God for his mercy. It is written, “I will praise you among the Gentiles. I will sing the praises of your name.” (2 Samuel 22:50; Psalm 18:49)

Through faith in Jesus we have received God’s grace. In that grace we stand. We are full of joy because we expect to share in God’s glory.

We were the first to put our hope in Christ. We were chosen to bring praise to his glory.

I pray that you may understand more clearly. Then you will know the hope God has chosen you to receive. You will know that what God will give his holy people is rich and glorious.

Put up with one another. Forgive one another if you are holding something against someone. Forgive, just as the Lord forgave you.
