“Lord, please remember how faithful I’ve been to you. I’ve lived the way you wanted me to. I’ve served you with all my heart. I’ve done what is good in your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

My eyes have grown weak because I’m so sad. My body is so thin it hardly casts a shadow.

I’ve been given several months that were useless to me. My nights have been filled with suffering.

When I kept silent about my sin, my body became weak because I groaned all day long.

My heart pounds, and my strength is gone. My eyes can hardly see.

Those who hate me without any reason are more than the hairs on my head. Many people who don’t have any reason to be my enemies are trying to destroy me. They force me to give back what I didn’t steal.

I’m crying so much I can’t see very well. Lord, I call out to you every day. I lift up my hands to you in prayer.

‘You have said, “How terrible it is for me! The Lord has added sorrow to my pain. I’m worn out from all my groaning. I can’t find any rest.” ’

So our hearts are weak. Our eyes can’t see very clearly.
