Get rid of all the sin you have. Don’t let anything that is evil stay in your tent.

Turn away from evil, and do good. Look for peace, and go after it.

Those who do right know the proper thing to say. But those who do wrong speak only twisted words.

If your heart is twisted, you won’t succeed. If your tongue tells lies, you will get into trouble.

It is better to be poor and to live without blame than to be foolish and to twist words around.

Let your eyes look straight ahead. Keep looking right in front of you.

An evil troublemaker goes around saying twisted things with his mouth.

To have respect for the Lord is to hate evil. I hate pride and bragging. I hate evil ways and twisted words.

All the words of my mouth are honest. None of them is twisted or sinful.

Get rid of all the evil things you have done. Let me give you a new heart and a new spirit. Then you will be faithful to me. Why should you die, people of Israel?

But now here are the kinds of things you must also get rid of. You must get rid of anger, rage, hate and lies. Let no dirty words come out of your mouths.

It stirs up trouble all the time among people whose minds are twisted by sin. The truth they once had has been taken away from them. They think they can get rich by being godly.

So get rid of everything that is sinful. Get rid of the evil that is all around us. Don’t be too proud to accept the word that is planted in you. It can save you.

Suppose people think their beliefs and how they live are both right. But they don’t control what they say. Then they are fooling themselves. Their beliefs and way of life are not worth anything at all.

So get rid of every kind of evil, and stop telling lies. Don’t pretend to be something you are not. Stop wanting what others have, and don’t speak against one another.
