A curse will fall on those who say the guilty are not guilty. Nations will ask for bad things to happen to them. People will speak against them.

People ask for bad things to happen to those who store up grain for themselves. But people ask for God’s blessing on those who are willing to sell.

The Lord hates two things. He hates it when the guilty are set free. He also hates it when those who aren’t guilty are punished.

Those who give to poor people will have all they need. But those who close their eyes to the poor will receive many curses.

“Don’t tell lies about a servant when you talk to their master. If you do, they will curse you, and you will pay for your lies.

How terrible it will be for those who say that what is evil is good! How terrible for those who say that what is good is evil! How terrible for those who say that darkness is light and light is darkness! How terrible for those who say that what is bitter is sweet and what is sweet is bitter!

How terrible for those who take money to set guilty people free! How terrible for those who don’t treat good people fairly!

“When they go out of Jerusalem, they will see the dead bodies of those who refused to obey me. The worms that eat their bodies will not die. The fire that burns them will not be put out. It will make everyone sick just to look at them.”

I had not made godly people sad. But when you told them lies, you made them lose all hope. You advised sinful people not to turn from their evil ways. You did not want them to save their lives.
