The royal officials came to give their blessing to our master King David. They said, ‘May your God make Solomon’s name more famous than yours! May he make Solomon’s kingdom greater than yours!’ While King David was sitting on his bed, he bowed in worship.

The names of those who do right are used in blessings. But the names of those who do wrong will rot.

A good name is better than fine perfume. People can learn more from mourning when someone dies than from being happy when someone is born.

But do not be glad when the evil spirits obey you. Instead, be glad that your names are written in heaven.”

He saved Joseph from all his troubles. God made Joseph wise. He helped him to become the friend of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. So Pharaoh made Joseph ruler over Egypt and his whole palace.

My true companion, here is what I ask you to do. Help these women, because they have served at my side. They have worked with me to spread the good news. So have Clement and the rest of those who have worked together with me. Their names are all written in the book of life.

All these people were praised because they had faith. But none of them received what God had promised.
