So let God weigh me in honest scales. Then he’ll know I haven’t done anything wrong.

They praise themselves so much that they can’t see their sin or hate it.

The way of foolish people seems right to them. But those who are wise listen to advice.

Everything a person does might seem pure to them. But the Lord knows why they do what they do.

There is a way that appears to be right. But in the end it leads to death.

Fire tests silver, and heat tests gold. But the Lord tests our hearts.

Many claim to have love that never fails. But who can find a faithful person?

Don’t say, “But we didn’t know anything about this.” Doesn’t the God who knows what you are thinking see it? Doesn’t the God who guards your life know it? He will pay back everyone for what they have done.

Some are pure in their own eyes. But their dirty sins haven’t been washed away.

The Lord says, “I look deep down inside human hearts. I see what is in people’s minds. I reward each person in keeping with their conduct. I bless them based on what they have done.”

“The word Tekel means that you have been weighed on scales. And you haven’t measured up to God’s standard.

Jesus said to them, “You try to make yourselves look good in the eyes of other people. But God knows your hearts. What people think is worth a lot is hated by God.

If anyone thinks they are somebody when they are nobody, they are fooling themselves.

Don’t just listen to the word. You fool yourselves if you do that. You must do what it says.

I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I search hearts and minds. I will pay each of you back for what you have done.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider how handsome or tall he is. I have not chosen him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outside of a person. But the Lord looks at what is in the heart.”
