Haman noticed that Mordecai wouldn’t get down on his knees. He wouldn’t give Haman any honor. So Haman was very angry.

Haman entered. Then the king asked him, “What should be done for the man I want to honor?” Haman said to himself, “Is there anyone the king would rather honor than me?”

So they did. And they used the pole Haman had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s anger calmed down.

When pride comes, shame follows. But wisdom comes to those who are not proud.

The one who loves to argue loves to sin. The one who builds a high gate is just asking to be destroyed.

If a person’s heart is proud, they will be destroyed. So don’t be proud if you want to be honored.

Pride brings a person low. But those whose spirits are low will be honored.

To have respect for the Lord is to hate evil. I hate pride and bragging. I hate evil ways and twisted words.

One day Sennacherib was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisrok. His sons Adrammelek and Sharezer killed him with their swords. Then they escaped to the land of Ararat. Esarhaddon became the next king after his father Sennacherib.
