Hands that don’t want to work make you poor. But hands that work hard bring wealth to you.

That day Isaac’s servants came to him. They told him about the well they had dug. They said, “We’ve found water!”

A child who gathers crops in summer is wise. But a child who sleeps at harvest time brings shame.

One person gives freely but gets even richer. Another person doesn’t give what they should but gets even poorer.

Hands that work hard will rule. But people who are lazy will be forced to work.

Lazy people do not even cook what they catch. But those who work hard eat their fill of what is hunted.

People who refuse to work want things and get nothing. But the desires of people who work hard are completely satisfied.

Anyone who doesn’t want to work is like someone who destroys.

Anyone who doesn’t want to work sleeps his life away. And a person who refuses to work goes hungry.

A person who doesn’t want to work leaves his hand in the dish. He won’t even bring it back up to his mouth!

Don’t love sleep, or you will become poor. Stay awake, and you will have more food than you need.

Anyone who refuses to work doesn’t plow in the right season. When they look for a crop at harvest time, they don’t find it.

The plans of people who work hard succeed. You can be just as sure that those in a hurry will become poor.

When a person won’t work, the roof falls down. Because of hands that aren’t busy, the house leaks.

Do not work for food that spoils. Work for food that lasts forever. That is the food the Son of Man will give you. For God the Father has put his seal of approval on him.”

My dear brothers and sisters, remain strong in the faith. Don’t let anything move you. Always give yourselves completely to the work of the Lord. Because you belong to the Lord, you know that your work is not worthless.
