The Lord spoke to Moses. He said,
The name of the Midianite woman who was killed was Kozbi. She was the daughter of Zur. He was the chief of a Midianite family.
“Treat the Midianites just as you would treat enemies. Kill them.
“Pay the Midianites back for what they did to the Israelites. After that, you will join the members of your family who have already died.”
