Then Balaam saw the Amalekites. He spoke the message he had received from God. He said, “Amalek was the first nation to attack Israel. But their end will be total destruction.”

Esau’s son Eliphaz also had a concubine named Timna. She had Amalek by Eliphaz. They were grandsons of Esau’s wife Adah.

They killed the rest of the Amalekites who had escaped. And they still live there to this day.

After those events, King Xerxes honored Haman. Haman was the son of Hammedatha. He was from the family line of Agag. The king gave Haman a higher position than he had before. He gave him a seat of honor. It was higher than the positions any of the other nobles had.

So the king commanded that it be done. An order was sent out in Susa. And the king’s men did to the bodies of Haman’s sons everything they were told to do.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “This is something to be remembered. So write it on a scroll. Make sure Joshua knows you have done it. I will completely erase the memory of the Amalekites from the earth.”

He said, “The Amalekites opposed the authority of the Lord. So the Lord will fight against the Amalekites for all time to come.”

The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim.

A ruler will come from among the people of Jacob. He’ll destroy those from the city who are still alive.”

Ships will come from the shores of Cyprus. They will bring Ashur and Eber under their control. But they themselves will also be destroyed.”

Their water buckets will run over. Their seeds will have plenty of water. “Their king will be greater than King Agag. Their kingdom will be honored.

Each year the people planted their crops. When they did, the Midianites came into the country and attacked it. So did the Amalekites and other tribes from the east.

He fought bravely. He won the battle over the Amalekites. He saved Israel from the power of those who had carried off what belonged to Israel.

The Lord who rules over all says, ‘I will punish the Amalekites because of what they did to Israel. As the Israelites came up from Egypt, the Amalekites attacked them.

On the third day David and his men arrived in Ziklag. The Amalekites had attacked the people of the Negev Desert. They had also attacked Ziklag and burned it.

David fought against them from sunset until the evening of the next day. None of them escaped except 400 young men. They rode off on camels and got away.
