Jesus heard this. So he said, “Those who are healthy don’t need a doctor. Sick people do.

He heals those who have broken hearts. He takes care of their wounds.

I said, “Lord, have mercy on me. Heal me, because I have sinned against you.”

Lord, have mercy on me. I’m so weak. Lord, heal me. My body is full of pain.

Lord, heal me. Then I will be healed. Save me from my enemies. Then I will be saved. You are the one I praise.

But I will make you healthy again. I will heal your wounds,” announces the Lord. “That’s because you have been thrown out. You are called Zion, the one no one cares about.”

“But now I will bring health and healing to Jerusalem. I will heal my people. I will let them enjoy great peace and security.

Isn’t there any healing lotion in Gilead? Isn’t there a doctor there? Then why doesn’t someone heal the wounds of my people?

Then the Lord will answer, “My people always wander away from me. But I will put an end to that. My anger has turned away from them. Now I will love them freely.

Jesus heard that. So he said to them, “Those who are healthy don’t need a doctor. Sick people do. I have not come to get those who think they are right with God to follow me. I have come to get sinners to follow me.”

Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor. Sick people do.

A woman was there who had a sickness that made her bleed. Her sickness had lasted for 12 years. No one could heal her.

But the crowds learned about it and followed Jesus. He welcomed them and spoke to them about God’s kingdom. He also healed those who needed to be healed.
