“Ask, and it will be given to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.

That day Isaac’s servants came to him. They told him about the well they had dug. They said, “We’ve found water!”

The Lord appeared to Solomon at Gibeon. He spoke to him in a dream during the night. God said, “Ask for anything you want me to give you.”

Lord, you hear the desires of those who are hurting. You cheer them up and give them hope. You listen to their cries.

Because he is proud, that evil person doesn’t turn to the Lord. There is no room for God in any of his thoughts.

Lord, I give praise to you. Teach me your orders.

My heart says, “Seek him!” Lord, I will seek you.

I looked to the Lord, and he answered me. He saved me from everything I was afraid of.

Find your delight in the Lord. Then he will give you everything your heart really wants.

Call out to me when trouble comes. I will save you. And you will honor me.”

Poor people will see it and be glad. The hearts of those who worship God will be strengthened.

But let all those who seek you be joyful and glad because of what you have done. Let those who want you to save them always say, “The Lord is great!”

Lord, you are forgiving and good. You are full of love for all who call out to you.

I love those who love me. Those who look for me find me.

I will get up and go around in the city. I’ll look through all of its streets. I’ll search for the one my heart loves. So I looked for him but didn’t find him.

People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you won’t weep anymore. When you cry out to the Lord for help, he will have mercy on you. As soon as he hears you, he’ll answer you.

Call out to me. I will answer you. I will tell you great things you do not know. And unless I do, you wouldn’t be able to find out about them.”

The Lord speaks to the people of Israel. He says, “Look to me and live.

“Again, here is what I tell you. Suppose two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for. My Father in heaven will do it for you.

If you believe, you will receive what you ask for when you pray.”

But put God’s kingdom first. Do what he wants you to do. Then all those things will also be given to you.

Even though you are evil, you know how to give good gifts to your children. How much more will your Father who is in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Everyone who asks will receive. The one who searches will find. The door will be opened to the one who knocks.

So I tell you, when you pray for something, believe that you have already received it. Then it will be yours.

The owner of the house will get up and close the door. Then you will stand outside knocking and begging. You will say, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you. And I don’t know where you come from.’

Jesus told his disciples a story. He wanted to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

You did not choose me. Instead, I chose you. I appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit that will last. I also appointed you so that the Father will give you what you ask for. He will give you whatever you ask for in my name.

If you remain joined to me and my words remain in you, ask for anything you wish. And it will be done for you.

Jesus answered her, “You do not know what God’s gift is. And you do not know who is asking you for a drink. If you did, you would have asked him. He would have given you living water.”

God will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good. They want glory, honor, and life that never ends.

No one understands. No one trusts in God.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. Those who come to God must believe that he exists. And they must believe that he rewards those who look to him.

The prayer offered by those who have faith will make the sick person well. The Lord will heal them. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

And he will give us anything we ask. That’s because we obey his commands. We do what pleases him.
