Jesus finished teaching his 12 disciples. Then he went on to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.

When Jesus finished saying these things, he left Galilee. He went into the area of Judea on the other side of the Jordan River.

When the crowds heard this, they were amazed by what he taught.

The rain comes down. The water rises. The winds blow and beat against that house. And it falls with a loud crash.”

The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard about this. They began looking for a way to kill Jesus. They were afraid of him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.

When the Sabbath day came, he began to teach in the synagogue. Many who heard him were amazed. “Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given to him? What are these remarkable miracles he is doing?

But they couldn’t find any way to do it. All the people were paying close attention to his words.

Everyone who heard him was amazed at how much he understood. They also were amazed at his answers.

Everyone said good things about him. They were amazed at the gracious words they heard from his lips. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.

They were amazed at his teaching, because his words had authority.

Jesus finished saying all these things to the people who were listening. Then he entered Capernaum.

The Jews there were amazed. They asked, “How did this man learn so much without being taught?”

“No one ever spoke the way this man does,” the guards replied.
