“Suppose a master puts one of his slaves in charge of the other slaves in his house. The slave’s job is to give them their food at the right time. The master wants a faithful and wise slave for this.

So all the skilled workers working on the holy tent stopped what they were doing.

A king is pleased with a wise servant. But a servant who is full of shame stirs up the king’s anger.

A faithful person will be richly blessed. But anyone who wants to get rich will be punished.

“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Tell them, ‘The Lord and King says, “How terrible it will be for you shepherds of Israel! You only take care of yourselves. You should take good care of your flocks.

The man said to me, “These are the kitchens. Those who serve at the temple must cook the people’s sacrifices here.”

“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. So be as wise as snakes and as harmless as doves.

He said to them, “Every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house. He brings new treasures out of his storeroom as well as old ones.”

It will be good for the slave if the master finds him doing his job when the master returns.

Five of them were foolish. Five were wise.

“His master replied, ‘You have done well, good and faithful slave! You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

“So then, everyone who hears my words and puts them into practice is like a wise man. He builds his house on the rock.

“ ‘You have done well, my good slave!’ his master replied. ‘You have been faithful in a very small matter. So I will put you in charge of ten towns.’

Keep watch over yourselves. Keep watch over all the believers. The Holy Spirit has made you leaders over them. Be shepherds of God’s church. He bought it with his own blood.

I am thankful to Christ Jesus our Lord. He has given me strength. I thank him that he considered me faithful. I thank him for appointing me to serve him.

You have heard me teach in front of many witnesses. Pass on to people you can trust the things you’ve heard me say. Then they will be able to teach others also.

“Moses was faithful as one who serves in the house of God.” (Numbers 12:7) He was a witness to what God would say in days to come.

‘I know that you live where Satan has his throne. But you remain faithful to me. You did not give up your faith in me. You didn’t give it up even in the days of Antipas. Antipas, my faithful witness, was put to death in your city, where Satan lives.

The man replied, “She’s from Moab. She came back from there with Naomi.
