So do not be afraid. I am with you. Do not be terrified. I am your God. I will make you strong and help you. I will hold you safe in my hands. I always do what is right.

Family of Jacob, you are as weak as a worm. But do not be afraid. People of Israel, there are only a few of you. But do not be afraid. I myself will help you,” announces the Lord. He is the one who sets his people free. He is the Holy One of Israel.

They all saw him and were terrified. Right away Jesus said to them, “Be brave! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah. Your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will have a child. It will be a boy, and you must call him John.

But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary. God is very pleased with you.

“Little flock, do not be afraid. Your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news. It will bring great joy for all the people.

So were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who worked with Simon. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on you will fish for people.”

“I have told you these things, so that you can have peace because of me. In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.”

But he said to them, “It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

The next night the Lord stood near Paul. He said, “Be brave! You have told people about me in Jerusalem. You must do the same in Rome.”
