Jesus went indoors. Then his disciples asked him in private, “Why couldn’t we drive out the evil spirit?”
The disciples came to him. They asked, “Why do you use stories when you speak to the people?”
Then Jesus left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him. They said, “Explain to us the story of the weeds in the field.”
Peter said, “Explain this to us.”
A few days later, Jesus entered Capernaum again. The people heard that he had come home.
Jesus entered a house. Again a crowd gathered. It was so large that Jesus and his disciples were not even able to eat.
Later Jesus was alone. The 12 disciples asked him about the stories. So did the others around him.
He did not say anything to them without using a story. But when he was alone with his disciples, he explained everything.
Then he left the crowd and entered the house. His disciples asked him about this teaching.
But Jesus took him by the hand. He lifted the boy to his feet, and the boy stood up.
He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.”
