The two returned and told the others about it. But the others did not believe them either.

When they saw him, they worshiped him. But some still had their doubts.

They heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him. But they did not believe it.

Later Jesus appeared to the 11 disciples as they were eating. He spoke firmly to them because they had no faith. They would not believe those who had seen him after he rose from the dead.

“Abraham said to him, ‘They do not listen to Moses and the Prophets. So they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

But the apostles did not believe the women. Their words didn’t make any sense to them.

But they still did not believe it. They were amazed and filled with joy. So Jesus asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

So they told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “First I must see the nail marks in his hands. I must put my finger where the nails were. I must put my hand into his side. Only then will I believe.”

The disciple who had reached the tomb first also went inside. He saw and believed.
