Pride brings a person low. But those whose spirits are low will be honored.

Lord, I know that a person doesn’t control their own life. They don’t direct their own steps.

A human heart is more dishonest than anything else. It can’t be healed. Who can understand it?

But what if someone says in front of others that they don’t know me? I will say in front of my Father who is in heaven that I don’t know them.

“We can,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink. And you will go through the baptism I go through.

“What I’m about to tell you is true,” Jesus answered. “It will happen today, in fact tonight. Before the rooster crows twice, you yourself will say three times that you don’t know me.”

Jesus and his disciples went to a place called Gethsemane. Jesus said to them, “Sit here while I pray.”

But with loud shouts they kept calling for Jesus to be crucified. The people’s shouts won out.

“Lord,” Peter asked, “why can’t I follow you now? I will give my life for you.”
