When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law. She was lying in bed. She had a fever.

Jesus and those with him left the synagogue. Right away they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew.

So he went to her. He took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her. Then she began to serve them.

He begged Jesus, “Please come. My little daughter is dying. Place your hands on her to heal her. Then she will live.”

So the sisters sent a message to Jesus. “Lord,” they told him, “the one you love is sick.”

Don’t we have the right to take a believing wife with us when we travel? The other apostles do. The Lord’s brothers do. Peter does.
