He loves our nation and has built our synagogue.”

That is why I did not even think I was fit to come to you. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus. Jairus was the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” the messenger said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”

You know how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went around doing good. He healed all who were under the devil’s power. God was with him.

Be humble in front of the Lord. And he will lift you up.

But God continues to give us more grace. That’s why Scripture says, “God opposes those who are proud. But he gives grace to those who are humble.” (Proverbs 3:34)
