The Lord will use the power of his holy arm to save his people. All the nations will see him do it. Everyone from one end of the earth to the other will see it.

His servant grew up like a tender young plant. He grew like a root coming up out of dry ground. He didn’t have any beauty or majesty that made us notice him. There wasn’t anything special about the way he looked that drew us to him.

So Moses made a bronze snake. He put it up on a pole. Then anyone who was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake remained alive.

What I’m about to tell you is true. On judgment day it will be easier for Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

“Then they will go away to be punished forever. But those who have done what is right will receive eternal life.”

Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who does not believe will be punished.

My eyes have seen your salvation.

The Word became a human being. He made his home with us. We have seen his glory. It is the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father. And the Word was full of grace and truth.

I give them eternal life, and they will never die. No one will steal them out of my hand.

Martha answered, “I know he will rise again. This will happen when people are raised from the dead on the last day.”

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even if they die.

The one who looks at me sees the one who sent me.

I know that his command leads to eternal life. So everything I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”

That friend is the Spirit of truth. The world can’t accept him. That’s because the world does not see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you, and he will be in you.

Before long, the world will not see me anymore. But you will see me. Because I live, you will live also.

You gave him authority over all people. He gives eternal life to all those you have given him.

Anyone who believes in the Son has eternal life. Anyone who does not believe in the Son will not have life. God’s anger remains on them.”

But anyone who drinks the water I give them will never be thirsty. In fact, the water I give them will become a spring of water in them. It will flow up into eternal life.”

“What I’m about to tell you is true. Anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. They will not be judged. They have crossed over from death to life.

Do not work for food that spoils. Work for food that lasts forever. That is the food the Son of Man will give you. For God the Father has put his seal of approval on him.”

The one who sent me doesn’t want me to lose anyone he has given me. He wants me to raise them up on the last day.

“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me brings them. Then I will raise them up on the last day.

Anyone who eats my body and drinks my blood has eternal life. I will raise them up on the last day.

Your father Abraham was filled with joy at the thought of seeing my day. He saw it and was glad.”

Sin ruled and brought death. But grace rules in the lives of those who are right with God. The grace of God brings eternal life. That’s because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done.

When you sin, the pay you get is death. But God gives you the gift of eternal life. That’s because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done.

God said, “Let light shine out of darkness.” (Genesis 1:3) He made his light shine in our hearts. His light gives us the light to know God’s glory. His glory is shown in the face of Christ.

Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being sure of what we do not see.

Because of his faith, Moses left Egypt. It wasn’t because he was afraid of the king’s anger. He didn’t let anything stop him. That’s because he saw the God who can’t be seen.

Even though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not see him now, you believe in him. You are filled with a glorious joy that can’t be put into words.

And here is what God has promised us. He has promised us eternal life.

And by doing these things, remain in God’s love as you wait. You are waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you eternal life.
