Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Simon Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Peter heard that, he put his coat on. He had taken it off earlier. Then he jumped into the water.

The Lord has done it. It is wonderful in our eyes.

No amount of water can put it out. Rivers can’t sweep it away. Suppose someone offers all their wealth to buy love. That won’t even come close to being enough.”

Someone may ask you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ If so, say, ‘The Lord needs it. But he will send it back here soon.’ ”

“Be dressed and ready to serve. Keep your lamps burning.

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord.

The disciple Jesus loved was next to him at the table.

Jesus saw his mother there. He also saw the disciple he loved standing nearby. Jesus said to his mother, “Dear woman, here is your son.”

So she ran to Simon Peter and another disciple, the one Jesus loved. She said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb! We don’t know where they have put him!”

Then he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were very happy when they saw the Lord.

Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

Peter turned around. He saw that the disciple Jesus loved was following them. He was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper. He had said, “Lord, who is going to hand you over to your enemies?”

This is the disciple who is a witness about these things. He also wrote them down. We know that what he says is true.

The other disciples followed in the boat. They were towing the net full of fish. The shore was only about 100 yards away.

You know the message God sent to the people of Israel. It is the good news of peace through Jesus Christ. He is Lord of all.

“So be sure of this, all you people of Israel. You nailed Jesus to the cross. But God has made him both Lord and Messiah.”

The first man came from the dust of the earth. The second man came from heaven.

Christ’s love controls us. We are sure that one person died for everyone. And so everyone died.

My brothers and sisters, you are believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. So treat everyone the same.
