A week later, Jesus’ disciples were in the house again. Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came in and stood among them. He said, “May peace be with you!”

Lord, you give us peace. You are the one who has done everything we’ve accomplished.

So the enemies of my people should come to me for safety. They should make peace with me. I will say it again. They should make peace with me.”

The mountains might shake. The hills might be removed. But my faithful love for you will never be shaken. And my covenant that promises peace to you will never be removed,” says the Lord. He shows you his loving concern.

After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John the brother of James with him. He led them up a high mountain. They were all alone.

Later Jesus appeared to the 11 disciples as they were eating. He spoke firmly to them because they had no faith. They would not believe those who had seen him after he rose from the dead.

The disciples were still talking about this when Jesus himself suddenly stood among them. He said, “May you have peace!”

About eight days after Jesus said this, he went up on a mountain to pray. He took Peter, John and James with him.

Then Thomas, who was also called Didymus, spoke to the rest of the disciples. “Let us go also,” he said. “Then we can die with Jesus.”

I leave my peace with you. I give my peace to you. I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be troubled. And do not be afraid.

On the evening of that first day of the week, the disciples were together. They had locked the doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Jesus came in and stood among them. He said, “May peace be with you!”

Again Jesus said, “May peace be with you! The Father has sent me. So now I am sending you.”

After this, Jesus appeared to his disciples again. It was by the Sea of Galilee. Here is what happened.

This was the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.

After his suffering and death, he appeared to them. In many ways he proved that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of 40 days. During that time he spoke about God’s kingdom.
