It was about noon on Preparation Day in Passover Week. “Here is your king,” Pilate said to the Jews.

From noon until three o’clock, the whole land was covered with darkness.

The next day was the day after Preparation Day. The chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate.

It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him.

It was the day before the Sabbath. That day was called Preparation Day. As evening approached,

It was now about noon. Then darkness covered the whole land until three o’clock.

It was Preparation Day. The Sabbath day was about to begin.

They went up to him again and again. They kept saying, “We honor you, king of the Jews!” And they slapped him in the face.

That day was the Jewish Preparation Day, and the tomb was nearby. So they placed Jesus there.

Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Then Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!”
