Your useless talk won’t keep us quiet. Someone has to correct you when you make fun of truth.

People who have an easy life look down on those who have problems. They think trouble comes only to those whose feet are slipping.

I’ve prepared my case. And I know I’ll be proved right.

People make fun of me. They slap my face and laugh at me. All of them join together against me.

My go-between is my friend as I pour out my tears to God.

People who make fun of me are all around me. I’m forced to watch as they attack me with their words.

“God has made an example of me. People spit in my face.

Put up with me while I speak. After I’ve spoken, you can make fun of me!

“But now those who are younger than I am make fun of me. I wouldn’t even put their parents with my sheep dogs!

“Now their children laugh at me. They make fun of me with their songs.

Is there anyone like Job? He accuses God as easily as he drinks water.

Stop what you are saying. Don’t be so unfair. Think it over again. You are trying to take my honesty away from me.

“Even though I’m honest, I’m not concerned about myself. I hate my own life.

Like ungodly people, they were mean and made fun of me. They ground their teeth at me in hate.

He will call out to me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in times of trouble. I will save him and honor him.

Whoever has respect for the Lord lives a good life. But those who hate him walk down an evil path.

You tricked me, Lord, and I was tricked. You overpowered me and won. People make fun of me all day long. Everyone laughs at me.

Call out to me. I will answer you. I will tell you great things you do not know. And unless I do, you wouldn’t be able to find out about them.”

But I will look to the Lord. I’ll put my trust in God my Savior. He will hear me.

Then they twisted thorns together to make a crown. They placed it on his head. They put a stick in his right hand. Then they fell on their knees in front of him and made fun of him. “We honor you, king of the Jews!” they said.

He said, “Go away. The girl is not dead. She is sleeping.” But they laughed at him.

But they laughed at him. He made them all go outside. He took only the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him. And he went in where the child was.

The Pharisees loved money. They heard all that Jesus said and made fun of him.

They heard Paul talk about the dead being raised. Some of them made fun of this idea. But others said, “We want to hear you speak about this again.”

Some were made fun of and even whipped. Some were held by chains. Some were put in prison.
