Keep on remembering those in prison. Do this as if you were together with them in prison. And remember those who are treated badly as if you yourselves were suffering.

But the chief wine taster didn’t remember Joseph. In fact, he forgot all about him.

I needed clothes. And you gave them to me. I was sick. And you took care of me. I was in prison. And you came to visit me.’

I was a stranger. But you did not invite me in. I needed clothes. But you did not give me any. I was sick and in prison. But you did not take care of me.’

He ordered the commander to keep Paul under guard. He told him to give Paul some freedom. He also told him to allow Paul’s friends to take care of his needs.

The next day we landed at Sidon. There Julius was kind to Paul. He let Paul visit his friends so they could give him what he needed.

Be joyful with those who are joyful. Be sad with those who are sad.

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part shares in its joy.

I am a prisoner because of the Lord. So I am asking you to live a life worthy of what God chose you for.

I, Paul, am writing this greeting with my own hand. Remember that I am being held by chains. May grace be with you.

You suffered along with people in prison. When your property was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew that God had given you better and more lasting things.

Some were killed with stones. Some were sawed in two. Some were killed by swords. They went around wearing the skins of sheep and goats. They were poor. They were attacked. They were treated badly.

Finally, I want all of you to agree with one another. Be understanding. Love one another. Be kind and tender. Be humble.
