Then God blessed Noah and his sons. He said to them, “Have children so that there are many of you. Fill the earth.

God blessed them. He said, “Have little ones so that there will be many of you. Fill the water in the seas. Let there be more and more birds on the earth.”

God blessed them. He said to them, “Have children so that there will be many of you. Fill the earth and bring it under your control. Rule over the fish in the seas and the birds in the sky. Rule over every living creature that moves along the ground.”

These are the tribes of Noah’s sons. They are listed by their family lines within their nations. From them the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.

God blessed the seventh day and made it holy. He blessed it because on that day he rested from all the work he had done.

And they gave Rebekah their blessing. They said to her, “Dear sister, may your family grow by thousands and thousands. May they take over the cities of their enemies.”

God said to him, “I am the Mighty God. Have children so that there will be many of you. You will become the father of a nation and a community of nations. Your later family will include kings.

Bring out every kind of living thing that is with you. Bring the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground. Then they can multiply on the earth. They can have little ones and the number of them can increase.”

The people who were scattered over the earth came from Noah’s three sons.

All the land animals will be afraid of you. All the birds in the sky will be afraid of you. Every creature that moves along the ground will be afraid of you. So will every fish in the seas. Every living thing is put under your control.

Have children so that there will be many of you. Multiply and become many on the earth.”

Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who have respect for the Lord. They find great delight when they obey God’s commands.

Consider Abraham. He is the father of your people. Think about Sarah. She is your mother. When I chose Abraham, he did not have any children. But I blessed him and gave him many of them.
