He sees how good his resting place is. He sees that his land is pleasant. So he will carry a heavy load on his back. He will obey when he’s forced to work.

“Issachar is like a wild donkey lying down among the sheep pens.

“Dan will do what is fair for his people. He will do it as one of the tribes of Israel.

The king moved into his palace. The Lord had given him peace and rest from all his enemies around him.

The voice said, “I removed the load from your shoulders. I set your hands free from carrying heavy baskets.

Hands that work hard will rule. But people who are lazy will be forced to work.

They tie up heavy loads that are hard to carry. Then they put them on other people’s shoulders. But they themselves aren’t willing to lift a finger to move them.

Hebron used to be called Kiriath Arba. It was named after Arba. He was the greatest man among the Anakites. So the land had peace and rest.

So the land was at peace for 40 years. Then Othniel, the son of Kenaz, died.
