The messengers came back to Jacob. They said, “We went to your brother Esau. He’s coming now to meet you. He has 400 men with him.”

So that day Esau started on his way back to Seir.

Then Shechem spoke to Dinah’s father and brothers. He said, “I want to please you. I’ll give you anything you ask for.

“You have saved our lives,” they said. “If you are pleased with us, we will be Pharaoh’s slaves.”
