Isaac began to shake all over. He said, “Then who hunted a wild animal and brought it to me? I ate it just before you came. I gave him my blessing. And he will certainly be blessed!”

The Lord said to her, “Two nations are in your body. Two tribes that are now inside you will be separated. One nation will be stronger than the other. The older son will serve the younger one.”

But Isaac said, “Your brother came and tricked me. He took your blessing.”

So Isaac called for Jacob and blessed him. Then he commanded him, “Don’t get married to a Canaanite woman.

When I think about these things, I’m terrified. My whole body trembles.

“When I hear the thunder, my heart pounds. It beats faster inside me.

Fear and trembling have taken hold of me. Panic has overpowered me.

He has commanded me to bless Israel. He has given them his blessing. And I can’t change it.

A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so they may have life. I want them to have it in the fullest possible way.

God does not take back his gifts. He does not change his mind about those he has chosen.

Give praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Those blessings come from the heavenly world. They belong to us because we belong to Christ.

Isaac had faith. So he blessed Jacob and Esau. He told them what was ahead for them.
