Lord, test me. Try me out. Look deep down into my heart and mind.

Those who aren’t faithful will be paid back for what they’ve done. And good people will receive rewards for how they’ve lived.

The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed. ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people,’ he said. ‘I am not like robbers or those who do other evil things. I am not like those who commit adultery. I am not even like this tax collector.

Everyone should take a careful look at themselves before they eat the bread and drink from the cup.

If the building doesn’t burn up, God will give the builder a reward for the work.

The one who plants and the one who waters have the same purpose. The Lord will give each of them a reward for their work.

Here is what we take pride in. Our sense of what is right and wrong tells us how we have acted. We have lived with honor and godly honesty. We have depended on God’s grace and not on the world’s wisdom. We lived that way most of all when we were dealing with you.

Take a good look at yourselves to see if you are really believers. Test yourselves. Don’t you realize that Christ Jesus is in you? Unless, of course, you fail the test!

Even those who are circumcised don’t obey the law. But they want you to be circumcised. Then they can brag about what has been done to your body.

I’m sure I will be with you again. Then you will be able to boast in Christ Jesus even more because of me.
