Galatians 6:1

Brothers and sisters, what if someone is caught in a sin? Then you who live by the Spirit should correct that person. Do it in a gentle way. But be careful. You could be tempted too.

One evening David got up from his bed. He walked around on the roof of his palace. From the roof he saw a woman taking a bath. She was very beautiful.

If a godly person hit me, it would be an act of kindness. If they would correct me, it would be like pouring olive oil on my head. I wouldn’t say no to it. I will always pray against the things that sinful people do.

“I will search for the lost. I will bring back those who have wandered away. I will bandage the ones who are hurt. I will make the weak ones stronger. But I will destroy those who are fat and strong. I will take good care of my sheep. I will treat them fairly.”

Become my servants and learn from me. I am gentle and free of pride. You will find rest for your souls.

Peter was sitting out in the courtyard. A female servant came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.

Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said. “The rooster will crow,” Jesus had told him. “Before it does, you will say three times that you don’t know me.” Peter went outside. He broke down and cried.

Go and learn what this means, ‘I want mercy and not sacrifice.’ (Hosea 6:6) I have not come to get those who think they are right with God to follow me. I have come to get sinners to follow me.”

Accept the person whose faith is weak. Don’t argue with them where you have differences of opinion.

We who have strong faith should help the weak with their problems. We should not please only ourselves.

The thoughts of a person ruled by sin bring death. But the mind ruled by the Spirit brings life and peace.

So be careful. When you think you are standing firm, you might fall.

Suppose anyone thinks they are a prophet. Or suppose they think they have other gifts given by the Holy Spirit. They should agree that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command.

The person who has the Spirit can judge all things. But no human being can judge those who have the Spirit. It is written,

Brothers and sisters, I couldn’t speak to you as people who live by the Holy Spirit. I had to speak to you as people who were still following the ways of the world. You aren’t growing as Christ wants you to. You are still like babies.

Which do you want? Should I come to you to correct and punish you? Or should I come in love and with a gentle spirit?

You shouldn’t stop giving yourselves to each other. You might possibly do this when you both agree to it. And you should only agree to it to give yourselves time to pray. Then you should come together again. In that way, Satan will not tempt you when you can’t control yourselves.

Christ is humble and free of pride. Because of this, I make my appeal to you. I, Paul, am the one you call “shy” when I am face to face with you. But when I am away from you, you think I am “bold” toward you.

Now you should forgive him and comfort him. Then he won’t be sad more than he can stand.

So I’m asking you to tell him again that you still love him.

and gentle and having control of oneself. There is no law against things of that kind.

Brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Now I want to talk about some other matters, brothers and sisters. We taught you how to live in a way that pleases God. In fact, that is how you are living. In the name of the Lord Jesus we ask and beg you to do it more and more.

But don’t think of them as an enemy. Instead, warn them as you would warn another believer.

They must gently teach those who are against them. Maybe God will give a change of heart to those who are against you. That will lead them to know the truth.

“Make level paths for your feet to walk on.” (Proverbs 4:26) Then those who have trouble walking won’t be disabled. Instead, they will be healed.

Keep on remembering those in prison. Do this as if you were together with them in prison. And remember those who are treated badly as if you yourselves were suffering.

Is anyone among you wise and understanding? That person should show it by living a good life. A wise person isn’t proud when they do good deeds.

All of us get tripped up in many ways. Suppose someone is never wrong in what they say. Then they are perfect. They are able to keep their whole body under control.

But make sure that in your hearts you honor Christ as Lord. Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you about the hope you have. Be ready to give the reason for it. But do it gently and with respect.

Suppose you see any brother or sister commit a sin. But this sin is not the kind that leads to death. Then you should pray, and God will give them life. I’m talking about someone whose sin does not lead to death. But there is a sin that does lead to death. I’m not saying you should pray about that sin.
