Exodus 8:9

Moses said to Pharaoh, “You can have the honor of setting the time for me to pray. I will pray for you, your officials and your people. I’ll pray that the frogs will leave you and your homes. The only frogs left will be the ones in the Nile River.”

Seven days passed after the Lord struck the Nile River.

“Tomorrow,” Pharaoh said. Moses replied, “It will happen just as you say. Then you will know that there is no one like the Lord our God.

The frogs will leave you and your houses. They will leave your officials and your people. The frogs will remain only in the Nile River.”

Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron. He said to them, “Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people. Then I’ll let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”

Does an ax claim to be more important than the person who swings it? Does a saw brag that it is better than the one who uses it? That would be like a stick swinging the person who picks it up! It would be like a war club waving the one who carries it!

The Lord replied, “I have forgiven them, just as you asked.

The Lord said to Gideon, “I want to hand Midian over to you. But you have too many men for me to do that. Then Israel might brag, ‘My own strength has saved me.’
