We have heard the voice of the living God. We’ve heard him speaking out of the fire. Has any other human being ever heard him speak like that and stayed alive?

The sun rose above Jacob as he passed by Peniel. He was limping because of his hip.

God saw how sinful the earth had become. All its people were living very sinful lives.

I am thirsty for God. I am thirsty for the living God. When can I go and meet with him?

My tears have been my food day and night. All day long people say to me, “Where is your God?”

I can’t wait to be in the courtyards of the Lord’s temple. I really want to be there. My whole being cries out for the living God.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Here is what you must tell the people of Israel. Say to them, ‘You have seen for yourselves what I said to you from heaven.

Another messenger says, “Cry out.” And I said, “What should I cry?” “Cry out, ‘All people are like grass. They don’t stay faithful to me any longer than wildflowers last.

But you are the only true God. You are the only living God. You are the King who rules forever. When you are angry, the earth trembles with fear. The nations can’t stand up under your anger.

“I order people in every part of my kingdom to respect and honor Daniel’s God. “He is the living God. He will live forever. His kingdom will not be destroyed. His rule will never end.

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, “I am commanding you in the name of the living God. May he judge you if you don’t tell the truth. Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

“Friends, why are you doing this? We are only human, just like you. We are bringing you good news. Turn away from these worthless things. Turn to the living God. He is the one who made the heavens and the earth and the sea. He made everything in them.

So no one will be considered right with God by obeying the law. Instead, the law makes us more aware of our sin.

How can the temple of the true God and the statues of other gods agree? We are the temple of the living God. God has said, “I will live with them. I will walk among them. I will be their God. And they will be my people.” (Leviticus 26:12; Jeremiah 32:38; Ezekiel 37:27)

You heard the voice of God speaking out of fire. And you lived! Has that happened to any other people?

Go near and listen to everything the Lord our God says. Then tell us what he tells you. We will listen and obey.”

The believers themselves report the kind of welcome you gave us. They tell about how you turned away from statues of gods. And you turned to serve the living and true God.

You will soon know that the living God is among you. He will certainly drive out the people now living in the land. He’ll do it to make room for you. He’ll drive out the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites.

“We’re going to die!” he said to his wife. “We’ve seen God!”

David spoke to the men standing near him. He asked them, “What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine? Goliath is bringing shame on Israel. What will be done for the one who removes it? This Philistine isn’t even circumcised. He dares the armies of the living God to fight him. Who does he think he is?”
