I belong to God and serve him. Last night his angel stood beside me.

Lord, I serve you. I serve you just as my mother did. You have set me free from the chains of my suffering.

The Lord has chosen the people of Jacob to be his own. He has chosen Israel to be his special treasure.

Because your love is faithful, put an end to my enemies. Destroy all of them, because I serve you.

Now obey me completely. Keep my covenant. If you do, then out of all the nations you will be my special treasure. The whole earth is mine.

“My love belongs to me, and I belong to him. Like an antelope, he eats among the lilies.

I belong to my love, and he belongs to me. He’s eating among the lilies.”

The Lord says, “Family of Jacob, remember these things. People of Israel, you are my servant. I have made you. You are my servant. Israel, I will not forget you.

Some will say, ‘We belong to the Lord.’ Others will call themselves by Jacob’s name. Still others will write on their hands, ‘We belong to the Lord.’ And they will be called by the name of Israel.

“This is the covenant I will make with Israel after that time,” announces the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds. I will write it on their hearts. I will be their God. And they will be my people.

They will be my people. And I will be their God.

Large flocks of animals are sacrificed at Jerusalem during the appointed feasts there. In the same way, the destroyed cities will be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

We might be thrown into the blazing furnace. But the God we serve is able to bring us out of it alive. He will save us from your power.

Then the king approached the opening of the blazing furnace. He shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, come out! You who serve the Most High God, come here!” So they came out of the fire.

Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “May the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be praised! He has sent his angel and saved his servants. They trusted in him. They refused to obey my command. They were willing to give up their lives. They would rather die than serve or worship any god except their own God.

So the king gave the order. Daniel was brought out and thrown into the lions’ den. The king said to him, “You always serve your God faithfully. So may he save you!”

When he got near it, he called out to Daniel. His voice was filled with great concern. He said, “Daniel! You serve the living God. You always serve him faithfully. So has he been able to save you from the lions?”

My God sent his angel. And his angel shut the mouths of the lions. They haven’t hurt me at all. That’s because I haven’t done anything wrong in God’s sight. I’ve never done anything wrong to you either, Your Majesty.”

I will put this third in the fire. I will make them as pure as silver. I will test them like gold. They will call out to me. And I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people.’ And they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’ ”

“The day is coming when I will judge,” says the Lord who rules over all. “On that day they will be my special treasure. I will spare them just as a father loves and spares his son who serves him.

Anyone who serves me must follow me. And where I am, my servant will also be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

Right away an angel of the Lord struck Herod down. Herod had not given praise to God. So he was eaten by worms and died.

She followed Paul and the rest of us around. She shouted, “These men serve the Most High God. They are telling you how to be saved.”

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Keep on speaking. Don’t be silent.

The next night the Lord stood near Paul. He said, “Be brave! You have told people about me in Jerusalem. You must do the same in Rome.”

But during the night an angel of the Lord came. He opened the doors of the jail and brought the apostles out.

An angel of the Lord spoke to Philip. “Go south to the desert road,” he said. “It’s the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”

I, Paul, am writing this letter. I serve Christ Jesus. I have been appointed to be an apostle. God set me apart to tell others his good news.

I serve God with my whole heart. I preach the good news about his Son. God knows that I always remember you

You have been set free from sin. God has made you his slaves. The benefit you gain leads to holy living. And the end result is eternal life.

Christ has paid the price for you. So use your bodies in a way that honors God.

The Lord’s people are his share. Jacob is the nation he has received.

I thank God, whom I serve as did our people of long ago. I serve God, knowing that what I have done is right. Night and day I thank God for you. Night and day I always remember you in my prayers.

Anyone who serves the Lord must not be hard to get along with. Instead, they must be kind to everyone. They must be able to teach. The one who serves must not hold anything against anyone.

The Lord stood at my side. He gave me the strength to preach the whole message. Then all the Gentiles heard it. I was saved from the lion’s mouth.

I, Paul, am writing this letter. I serve God, and I am an apostle of Jesus Christ. God sent me to help his chosen people believe in Christ more and more. God sent me to help them understand even more the truth that leads to godly living.

He gave himself for us. By doing that, he set us free from all evil. He wanted to make us pure. He wanted us to be his very own people. He wanted us to desire to do what is good.

All angels are spirits who serve. God sends them to serve those who will receive salvation.

“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this witness for the churches. I am the Root and the Son of David. I am the bright Morning Star.”
