Uriah came to David. David asked him how Joab and the soldiers were doing. He also asked him how the war was going.

So Israel said to him, “Go to your brothers. See how they are doing. Also see how the flocks are doing. Then come back and tell me.” So he sent him away from the Hebron Valley. Joseph arrived at Shechem.
So David sent a message to Joab. David said, “Send me Uriah, the Hittite.” Joab sent him to David.
So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law. Moses bowed down and kissed him. They greeted each other. Then they went into the tent.
David left what he had brought with the man who took care of the supplies. He ran to the battle lines and asked his brothers how they were.
