The group of the prophets said to Elisha, “Look. The place where we meet with you is too small for us.

Then one of them said, “Won’t you please come with us?” “I will,” Elisha replied.

“I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them. They said, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat. That night they didn’t catch anything.

They were tentmakers, just as he was. So he stayed and worked with them.

Or are Barnabas and I the only ones who have to do other work for a living? Are we the only ones who can’t just do the work of apostles all the time?

Brothers and sisters, I am sure you remember how hard we worked. We labored night and day while we preached to you God’s good news. We didn’t want to cause you any expense.

We didn’t eat anyone’s food without paying for it. In fact, it was just the opposite. We worked night and day. We worked very hard so that we wouldn’t cause any expense to any of you.

You gain a lot when you live a godly life. But you must be happy with what you have.
