Jehoiada had become very old. He died at the age of 130.

But you will die in peace. You will join the members of your family who have already died. And you will be buried when you are very old.

He took his last breath and died when he was very old. He had lived a very long time. Then he joined the members of his family who had already died.

Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The years of my journey through life are 130. My years have been few and hard. They aren’t as many as the years of my father and grandfather before me.”

David had become very old. So he made his son Solomon king over Israel.

So they finished the work. Then they brought the rest of the money to the king and Jehoiada. It was used to pay for the objects that were made for the Lord’s temple. The objects were used for serving at the temple. They were also used for the burnt offerings. The objects included dishes and other things made out of gold and silver. As long as Jehoiada lived, burnt offerings were sacrificed continually at the Lord’s temple.

He was buried with the kings in the City of David. That’s because he had done so many good things in Israel for God and his temple.

Jehoiada chose two wives for Joash. They had sons and daughters by Joash.

You will go down to the grave while you are still very strong. You will be like a crop that is gathered at the right time.

We live to be about 70. Or we may live to be 80, if we stay healthy. But even our best days are filled with trouble and sorrow. The years quickly pass, and we are gone.

I will give him a long and full life. I will save him.”
