Abijah ruled in Jerusalem for three years. His mother’s name was Maakah. She was a daughter of Uriel. Uriel was from Gibeah. There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

Jeroboam ruled for 22 years. Then he joined the members of his family who had already died. Jeroboam’s son Nadab became the next king after him.

Abijah ruled in Jerusalem for three years. His mother’s name was Maakah. She was Abishalom’s daughter.

Then Rehoboam married Maakah. She was the daughter of Absalom. She had sons by Rehoboam. Their names were Abijah, Attai, Ziza and Shelomith.

That evening an old man came into the city. He had been working in the fields. He was from the hill country of Ephraim. But he was living in Gibeah. The people who lived there were from the tribe of Benjamin.

Saul also went to his home in Gibeah. Some brave men whose hearts God had touched went with Saul.
