A message came to Elijah from the Lord. He said,
So Abraham named that place The Lord Will Provide. To this day people say, “It will be provided on the mountain of the Lord.”
Then a message came to Elijah from the Lord. He said,
Some time later the brook dried up. It hadn’t rained in the land for quite a while.
“Go right away to Zarephath in the region of Sidon. Stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.”
“Those who are poor and needy search for water. But there isn’t any. Their tongues are dry because they are thirsty. But I will help them. I am the Lord. I will not desert them. I am Israel’s God.
So we can say boldly, “The Lord helps me. I will not be afraid. What can mere human beings do to me?” (Psalm 118:6,7)
