Suppose someone sees a brother or sister in need and is able to help them. And suppose that person doesn’t take pity on these needy people. Then how can the love of God be in that person?

Those who do what is right take good care of their animals. But the kindest acts of those who do wrong are mean.

Anyone who crushes poor people makes fun of their Maker. But anyone who is kind to those in need honors God.

Anyone who is kind to poor people lends to the Lord. God will reward them for what they have done.

Whoever refuses to listen to the cries of poor people will also cry out and not be answered.

If you don’t pay attention to my instruction, even your prayers are hated.

John answered, “Anyone who has extra clothes should share with the one who has none. And anyone who has extra food should do the same.”

You know the grace shown by our Lord Jesus Christ. Even though he was rich, he became poor to help you. Because he became poor, you can become rich.

Don’t forget to do good. Don’t forget to share with others. God is pleased with those kinds of offerings.

Suppose a brother or a sister has no clothes or food.

Suppose one of you says to them, “Go. I hope everything turns out fine for you. Keep warm. Eat well.” And suppose you do nothing about what they really need. Then what good have you done?

Suppose someone claims to love God but hates a brother or sister. Then they are a liar. They don’t love their brother or sister, whom they have seen. So they can’t love God, whom they haven’t seen.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children as well.
