Romans 14:1

Now receive the one who is weak in the faith, and do not have disputes over differing opinions.

Look, you have instructed many; you have strengthened feeble hands.

Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; he leads the ewes along.

A crushed reed he will not break, a dim wick he will not extinguish; he will faithfully make just decrees.

I will seek the lost and bring back the strays; I will bandage the injured and strengthen the sick, but the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them – with judgment!

You have not strengthened the weak, healed the sick, bandaged the injured, brought back the strays, or sought the lost, but with force and harshness you have ruled over them.

Indeed, I am about to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not take heed to the sheep headed to slaughter, will not seek the scattered, and will not heal the injured. Moreover, he will not nourish the one that is healthy but instead will eat the meat of the fat sheep and tear off their hooves.

He will not break a bruised reed or extinguish a smoldering wick, until he brings justice to victory.

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

“See that you do not disdain one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

For it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and then goes out into the sewer.” (This means all foods are clean.)

It would be better for him to have a millstone tied around his neck and be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.

I tell you the solemn truth, whoever accepts the one I send accepts me, and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”

The local inhabitants showed us extraordinary kindness, for they built a fire and welcomed us all because it had started to rain and was cold.

For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

One person believes in eating everything, but the weak person eats only vegetables.

It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble.

The one who eats everything must not despise the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not judge the one who eats everything, for God has accepted him.

But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not just please ourselves.

Receive one another, then, just as Christ also received you, to God’s glory.

Without being weak in faith, he considered his own body as dead (because he was about one hundred years old) and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

To the weak I became weak in order to gain the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that by all means I may save some.

So welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him,

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the undisciplined, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient toward all.

But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained by practice to discern both good and evil.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house and do not give him any greeting,
