I was once young, now I am old. I have never seen a godly man abandoned, or his children forced to search for food.

For the Lord promotes justice, and never abandons his faithful followers. They are permanently secure, but the children of evil men are wiped out.

My enemies’ taunts cut into me to the bone, as they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

Carefully consider this, you who reject God! Otherwise I will rip you to shreds and no one will be able to rescue you.

Otherwise they will rip me to shreds like a lion; they will tear me to bits and no one will be able to rescue me.

Now if you are ready, when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, trigon, harp, pipes, and all kinds of music, you must bow down and pay homage to the statue that I had made.
