Lift your hands toward the sanctuary and praise the Lord!

They will proclaim the splendor of your kingdom; they will tell about your power,

I have asked the Lord for one thing – this is what I desire! I want to live in the Lord’s house all the days of my life, so I can gaze at the splendor of the Lord and contemplate in his temple.

He allowed the symbol of his strong presence to be captured; he gave the symbol of his splendor into the hand of the enemy.

Majestic splendor emanates from him; his sanctuary is firmly established and beautiful.

The splendor of Lebanon will come to you, its evergreens, firs, and cypresses together, to beautify my palace; I will bestow honor on my throne room.

I will provide the priests with abundant provisions. My people will be filled to the full with the good things I provide.”
