Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no quarreling between me and you, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are close relatives.

Then he sent his brothers on their way and they left. He said to them, “As you travel don’t be overcome with fear.”

I was glad because they said to me, “We will go to the Lord’s temple.”

“If the Lord had not been on our side” – let Israel say this! –

O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor do I have a haughty look. I do not have great aspirations, or concern myself with things that are beyond me.

They will no longer injure or destroy on my entire royal mountain. For there will be universal submission to the Lord’s sovereignty, just as the waters completely cover the sea.

I will give them a single-minded purpose to live in a way that always shows respect for me. They will want to do that for their own good and the good of the children who descend from them.

If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

Everyone will know by this that you are my disciples – if you have love for one another.”

that they will all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I pray that they will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to agree together, to end your divisions, and to be united by the same mind and purpose.

Brotherly love must continue.

Finally, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, affectionate, compassionate, and humble.
