He grows up like a flower and then withers away; he flees like a shadow, and does not remain.

For we were born yesterday and do not have knowledge, since our days on earth are but a shadow.

I am fading away like a shadow at the end of the day; I am shaken off like a locust.

O Lord, your name endures, your reputation, O Lord, lasts.

But the Lord rules forever; he reigns in a just manner.

in the morning it glistens and sprouts up; at evening time it withers and dries up.

You were once abandoned and despised, with no one passing through, but I will make you a permanent source of pride and joy to coming generations.

But you, O Lord, reign forever; your throne endures from generation to generation.

The everlasting God is a refuge, and underneath you are his eternal arms; he has driven out enemies before you, and has said, “Destroy!”

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!
