He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts.

The warden did not concern himself with anything that was in Joseph’s care because the Lord was with him and whatever he was doing the Lord was making successful.

His master observed that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made everything he was doing successful.

The Lord was with him; he succeeded in all his endeavors. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and refused to submit to him.

“Now, my son, may the Lord be with you! May you succeed and build a temple for the Lord your God, just as he announced you would.

Then you will succeed, if you carefully obey the rules and regulations which the Lord ordered Moses to give to Israel. Be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic!

He wholeheartedly and successfully reinstituted service in God’s temple and obedience to the law, in order to follow his God.

Many were bringing presents to the Lord in Jerusalem and precious gifts to King Hezekiah of Judah. From that time on he was respected by all the nations.

at the scent of water it will flourish and put forth shoots like a new plant.

Whatever you decide on a matter, it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.

You will eat what you worked so hard to grow. You will be blessed and secure.

Those who pass by will not say, “May you experience the Lord’s blessing! We pronounce a blessing on you in the name of the Lord.”

They bear fruit even when they are old; they are filled with vitality and have many leaves.

So they proclaim that the Lord, my protector, is just and never unfair.

When its branches get brittle, they break; women come and use them for kindling. For these people lack understanding, therefore the one who made them has no compassion on them; the one who formed them has no mercy on them.

Tell the innocent it will go well with them, for they will be rewarded for what they have done.

They will sprout up like a tree in the grass, like poplars beside channels of water.

The Lord will continually lead you; he will feed you even in parched regions. He will give you renewed strength, and you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring that continually produces water.

They will be like a tree planted near a stream whose roots spread out toward the water. It has nothing to fear when the heat comes. Its leaves are always green. It has no need to be concerned in a year of drought. It does not stop bearing fruit.

In a good field, by abundant waters, it was planted to grow branches, bear fruit, and become a beautiful vine.

“‘Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard, planted by water. It was fruitful and full of branches because it was well-watered.

Therefore it grew taller than all the trees of the field; its boughs grew large and its branches grew long, because of the plentiful water in its shoots.

On both sides of the river’s banks, every kind of tree will grow for food. Their leaves will not wither nor will their fruit fail, but they will bear fruit every month, because their water source flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”

They are like valleys stretched forth, like gardens by the river’s side, like aloes that the Lord has planted, and like cedar trees beside the waters.

But when the sun came up, they were scorched, and because they did not have sufficient root, they withered.

After noticing a fig tree by the road he went to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. He said to it, “Never again will there be fruit from you!” And the fig tree withered at once.

When the harvest time was near, he sent his slaves to the tenants to collect his portion of the crop.

They said to him, “He will utterly destroy those evil men! Then he will lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his portion at the harvest.”

If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown out like a branch, and dries up; and such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and are burned up.

The Lord will decree blessing for you with respect to your barns and in everything you do – yes, he will bless you in the land he is giving you.

These men are dangerous reefs at your love feasts, feasting without reverence, feeding only themselves. They are waterless clouds, carried along by the winds; autumn trees without fruit – twice dead, uprooted;

flowing down the middle of the city’s main street. On each side of the river is the tree of life producing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month of the year. Its leaves are for the healing of the nations.
