A foolish scheme is sin, and the scorner is an abomination to people.

But the Lord saw that the wickedness of humankind had become great on the earth. Every inclination of the thoughts of their minds was only evil all the time.

And the Lord smelled the soothing aroma and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, even though the inclination of their minds is evil from childhood on. I will never again destroy everything that lives, as I have just done.

A proud and arrogant person, whose name is “Scoffer,” acts with overbearing pride.

Drive out the scorner and contention will leave; strife and insults will cease.

for he is like someone calculating the cost in his mind. “Eat and drink,” he says to you, but his heart is not with you;

The one who plans to do evil will be called a scheming person.

Scornful people inflame a city, but those who are wise turn away wrath.

Whoever corrects a mocker is asking for insult; whoever reproves a wicked person receives abuse.

The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the Lord, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.

“Oh people of Jerusalem, purify your hearts from evil so that you may yet be delivered. How long will you continue to harbor up wicked schemes within you?

For out of the heart come evil ideas, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

When Jesus saw their reaction he said, “Why do you respond with evil in your hearts?

Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that he may perhaps forgive you for the intent of your heart.

and every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.
