Evil men set an ambush for the godly and try to kill them.

They stalk and lurk; they watch my every step, as they prepare to take my life.

For look, they wait to ambush me; powerful men stalk me, but not because I have rebelled or sinned, O Lord.

If they say, “Come with us! We will lie in wait to shed blood; we will ambush an innocent person capriciously.

But when the son of Paul’s sister heard about the ambush, he came and entered the barracks and told Paul.

Requesting him to do them a favor against Paul, they urged Festus to summon him to Jerusalem, planning an ambush to kill him along the way.

but Saul learned of their plot against him. They were also watching the city gates day and night so that they could kill him.

As they were going up the ascent to the town, they met some girls coming out to draw water. They said to them, “Is this where the seer is?”
